Back to reality - sort of...

It's getting tough to believe how fast Gunnar is growing up. He amazes me every day with his concentration and observation skills, as well as his very obvious sense of humor. He's so amused by making silly noises and faces. Once back in Oregon, Justin headed back to work, and Gunnar and I resumed some form of our old routine. Gunnar makes it painfully obvious which parts of his routine work for him and which don't, like his morning nap. For the past few days, Gunnar has decided he no longer needs his morning nap, and seems content to stay up until 11 or 12 noon. I'm a little bummed, since his first nap time was the only time every morning I could get a shower. Oh well, we adjust, right? Gunnar and I headed to IKEA, which just opened the day we arrived back in Oregon. It was a long day, and Gunnar and I both felt a little dried up and hungry by the time we got out of there. We found this great tent for Gunnar though, where he can store his toys in the living room and play peek-a-boo.

Gunnar and I were invited to Kristy's baby shower, so we headed into town for the party. I can't believe their baby will be born in only a couple months! When we met Kristy was barely pregnant, and Gunnar was only about 4 months old. Gunnar had fun at the party, and he was a hit of course, since everyone loves Gunnar. He's such a social baby, and spent his time trying to get everyone's attention by waving and laughing. He even helped hand gifts to Kristy - what a big boy!

We then went to see Grandma Carole in Lake Oswego and have dinner. Daddy put the blanket out on the grass to play, and Gunnar refused to crawl off the blanket. The grass must have been pokey, b/c he would put a hand on it, then sit up on his knees and back up.

Nana Wanda actually had some meetings in Portland, so we headed in to spend a day wandering around and shopping with her. We had a blast, and all of us sort of shopped until we dropped. The next day, Justin had off, so we headed to Costco and then Ali, Jeromy and Maddie came over for a drink and to just hang out. Somehow we ended up with the silicone bundt pan out, and got some funny photos of Maddie and Jeromy being silly.

Yesterday, we started out to just have lunch at a McMenamin's pub nearby, then decided to venture out and head toward the Grand Lodge since we had never been there. Gunnar had fun at lunch, and got to taste a few tater tots, which he wasn't so sure about. He really liked the flowers at the Grand Lodge though.
